Greenberry House is a unique artisan studio and vintage gift shop and book store just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in charming Meadows of Dan, Virginia. Artisan Leslie Shelor works on the farm that has been in her family for generations, in a community that was settled by her ancestors in the 1820s. The studio is a family home that was built in the mid-19th century and is a cozy setting and welcoming studio. Leslie is a handspinner and creates yarns from local wool, alpaca, angora and mohair, some produced on the farm by her German Angora rabbits. Along with her handspun and hand dyed yarns, Leslie offers quality knitted and crocheted shawls, hats, fingerless mitts and more featuring her original designs. Her studio is surrounded by a huge pumpkin patch in the summer and her home flock of laying hens and a pair of pet goats add to the gentle farm atmosphere. Leslie is hearing impaired and has an Australian Shepherd, Knightley, that acts as her service dog in the studio.
